- Your budget is tight and you're not doing enough volume to justify the ROI wait.
And if you go the manual route while you decide, here's the one piece of advice I'd give: use a V-block, mark your starting orientation, and run a test engraving on a practice cup before every batch. Every single time, not just when you're busy. I learned that one the hard way—three times.
Whichever path you choose, build your own pre-flight checklist before your first job. You'll probably outgrow it in a year, and that's fine. Future you will save money.
